United Arab Emirates

Our first day went well. Naomi had a meeting with the leaders of the conference. There are 550 women present, with 45 nations represented, and more than 10 speakers. Anne Graham Lotz opened the conference with an evening address on Abraham. She spoke about leaving everything to follow God, outlining Abraham's failure to trust God during the famine and his disastrous journey into Egypt, and suggesting the different things this could mean to each of us. Her lecture came from Genesis 12 and 13. There was a good response to her invitation first for salvation, and second, for returning to the place where you last heard from God.

The events of today began with another lesson from Anne Graham Lotz, followed by various breakout sessions. Naomi spoke three times, giving a message titled "Real Women, Real Stories." The women in the seminar connected well with her as well as the material. They related to her illustrations and when she opened for a time of Q&A there were a lot of questions. She was asked questions directly about Wellspring and its many projects, and when it was time to leave, several stayed to talk to her. She also had some significant one-on-one conversations with people who sought her thoughts on personal situations, or her advice on their own efforts to minister to those in need. All in all, she spoke to about 150 women.

Later we met with both the director and chairman of the board for RZIM in the Middle East. They have set up a television interview tomorrow morning with Power Vision. Naomi and Margie will be speaking about the efforts of RZIM and Wellspring International respectively. The program will be broadcasted across the Middle East! Thank you for taking this trip with us, for your support, and your words of encouragement. Tomorrow afternoon we will be heading to our next destination and will post again when we are able.
